Items needed:
·         Scissors
·         Yarn Needle for Weaving
·         250 Yards of DK weight Yarn
·         Crochet Hooks Sizes: 4.5mm/G, 5.00mm/H, 5.5mm/I, 6.00mm/J, &  6.5mm/K

Abbreviations:

·         Sl St – Slip Stitch
·         St (s) - Stitches
·         Ch (s) – Chain(s)
·         Y/O – Yarn Over
·         SC – Single Crochet
·         FSC – Foundation Single Crochet
·         SDC - Special Double Crochet: Insert your hook into the instructed stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, chain two, yarn over, and draw yarn through two loops on the hook; stitch completed, it will resemble a V.

Size:  Adult/ Teen
Skill Level: Easy+
Gauge: If you tend to crochet tightly, I would recommend a looser tension for this pattern.


 Special instructions:

·         This cowl is worked from the top down.
·         You will always have 100 stitches at the end of each round after the increase on round two.


Pattern:


Please read all items needed, abbreviations, gauge, sizes, and special instructions before beginning your project!

Round 1: Using 4.00mm/ G hook make 50 FSC, sl st to the first FSC to join. (50 FSC)
Round 2: Ch 1, make 1 SC into the first FSC, ch 1, *(make 1 SC into the next FSC, ch 1)*, repeat parenthesis 48 times, sl st to the first SC to join. (100 sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, insert your hook into the same st as join and draw up a loop, ch 2, y/o and draw through two loops (it will look slanted however when you join into the space of this first SDC at the end of the round it will fix right back up), ch 1, skip 1 st, (*make a SDC into the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st*), repeat parenthesis 48 times, join to the top of the first SDC made.
Round 4: Ch 1, make 1 SC into the first SDC, ch 1, *(make 1 SC into the next SDC, ch 1)*, repeat parenthesis 48 times, sl st to join.
Round 5: Repeat round 3.
Round 6: Repeat round 4.
Round 7: Repeat round 3
Round 8: Repeat round 4.
Round 9: Repeat round 3.

Switch to 5.00mm/H hook.
Round 10: Ch 1, make 1 SC into the first SDC, ch 1, *(make 1 SC into the next st, ch 1)*, repeat parenthesis 48 times, sl st to join.
Round 11: Ch 1, insert your hook into the same st as join and draw up a loop, ch 2, y/o and draw through two loops, ch 1, skip 1 st, (*make a SDC into the next st, ch 1, skip 1 st*), repeat parenthesis 48 times, join to the top of the first SDC made.
Round 12: Ch 1, make 1 SC into the first SDC, ch 1, *(make 1 SC into the next SDC, ch 1)*, repeat parenthesis 48 times, sl st to join.
Round 13:  Repeat round 11.
Round 14: Repeat round 12.
Round 15: Repeat round 11.



Rounds 16-21: Switch to 5.5mm/ I Hook, repeat rounds 10-15.
Rounds 22-27: Switch to 6.0mm/ J Hook, repeat rounds 10-15.
Rounds 28-33: Switch to 6.5mm/ K Hook, repeat rounds 10-15.
Round 34: Ch 1, sl st into the same st as join, ch 1, sl st into the next ch 1 space, ch 1, *(sl st into the next SC, ch 1, sl st into the next ch 1 space, ch 1)*, repeat parenthesis 96 more times, sl st to the beginning of the round to join, fasten off, and weave in the ends through the second to last row.
